Get Rid of Heartburn With Natural treatment for heartburn-not drugs!

treating heartburn naturallyThe treatment for heartburn has involved the use of PPI drugs for years.

Over 20 million Americans focus on using an acid blocking drug called a proton pump inhibitor to treat heartburn.

If you are one of these people, you need to be aware of the risks involved in taking these drugs that Americans take like candy.

Research shows proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) such as Prevacid, Prilosec and Nexium are being overused, misused AND are uber-toxic!

I can show you how natural treatment for heartburn AKA reflux beats the prescription alternative and brings with it no side effects whatsoever.

Proton Pump Inhibitors Were Not Designed to Treat Heartburn

natural relief for heartburnPPI’s are the most powerful class of antacid drugs. They were actually designed to treat a very limited range of severe problems, such as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome (a rare condition that causes excess stomach acid production), bleeding ulcers, and REALLY severe acid reflux, where an endoscopy has confirmed your esophagus is damaged to the point of being prone to developing cancer.

PPI’s, in fact, were not initially created to treat regular heartburn, yet these drugs are making a lot of money for their companies without notifying patients there are alternatives. These are available over the counter, causing customers to keep using them as a continuous heartburn treatment.

If you are currently taking a PPI drug to for the treatment of heartburn, you need to know that you are not addressing the underlying cause of your regular heartburn. Instead, you are potentially causing yourself more health problems in the long run.

PPI drugs should NOT be used for more than two weeks at a time, and no more than three times a year. However, individuals and even doctors ignore this recommendation. I, personally, forgive consumers…how on earth would you know? However, doctors should be reading their literature and should not be giving patients these prescriptions without advising them of the risks.

Here are some of the problems with long-term PPI use:

Suzanne Somers has recently written about her experience with PPI drugs, and her conclusion is at the end of this section. By the way, don’t write her off as a “fluff” Anti-aging spokesperson. I’ve conversed with her, and she is remarkably knowledgeable. Now, back to the issues with the PPI’s:

Heart attack

Stomach cancer

Increased risk of infection with Clostridium difficile, a harmful gastrointestinal bacteria as well as increased risk of food poisoning.

Developing achlorhydria – having NO stomach acid production. Big time increase in incidence of leaky gut.

Around 95 percent of heartburn cases are not caused by an increased amount of stomach acid. Instead, heartburn is due to a decrease in the amount of stomach acid. I know this is counter-intuitive, but stay with me! Therefore, when taking a PPI, it is suppressing the production of stomach acid which can make your heartburn worse in the long run. One of the leading anti-aging gurus, Suzanne Somers, even came to this conclusion.

Do you want to get rid of heartburn instead of just masking the symptoms?

You will need one or two supplements, which depends on how bad your symptoms are and how long you have been treating it with PPI’s. It is important to remember the less pharmaceutical drugs you take, the healthier you are – period.

If you are to the point where you are hoarse, have a lot of throat clearing as well as the typical burning sensation and even some “esophageal spasm” then you definitely need both the enzymes and the betaine (HCL).

If you have upper bloating after eating and belching after eating, both of these can be associated with severe heartburn. In turn, these issues can be treated with these two natural supplements. When in doubt, both are indicated.

Digestive Enzymes

The first supplement to take is the digestive enzymes before each meal and when symptoms may occur. If symptoms persist, take HCL in the form of betaine. When you use this correctly, it can get rid of heartburn.

Most people who have been on PPI’s for 6 months on a constant basis need the digestive enzymes and the betaine. Dosing for the vast majority of the online doctor consults I do has been the following. The digestive enzymes are 2-3 caps, prior to each meal with one cap of betaine. When/if you have symptoms outside of these times you can take more. They work! Big time. Chewing TUMS all day doesn’t cut it due to the increased calcium load which can lead to hard coronary placquing which is irreversible.

Now I’ll tell you a personal story here. I just switched my 91+ year-old dad to this regimen. You wouldn’t believe how fast he stopped being hoarse, stopped hiccups, and stopped burping! He was even short of breath due to his degree of reflux and that cleared up too!I also just gave this treatment to an AWS client, Jen. She is only 32. She has been treated with PPI’s for 10 years. What was just bizarre is that she was taking THREE different PPI’s, yet she still had awful heartburn! Can you imagine? She was symptom-free within 3 days!

Just get yourself some digestive enzymes. Take 2-3 before meals and symptoms. Also, take the betaine with every meal. I’ll bet you’ll be symptom-free within a week. If not, you have more than run-of-the mill heartburn and should get a medical evaluation.
